MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1976 film?

Adapted from the novel of the Sicilian writer Leonardo Sciascia. Don Gaetano, the priest who moreover runs the retreat, with the intention of bringing them closer to God, shown disposed to treat them with an iron fist and get atone for their sins. While Italy is plagued by a terrible epidemic, the top ruling party leaders meet at a secluded convent to decide a new distribution of power. A mannered president tries to maintain its leadership while privately being tortured with doubts and fears also perverse. The situation is complicated when politicians begin to be killed.
