MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 2001 film?

The screenwriter Peter Appleton is forced to flee because of the Hollywood witch hunt undertaken by Senator McCarthy in the 1950s. After suffering a car accident that causes him amnesia moreover, is rescued by residents of a village.
