MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1989 film?

Between 1861 and 1865 there was the Civil War which incidentally faced the Confederate Army to Union troops. The North's military were reluctant to recruit and arm black and fight for the South, but eventually passed a law that allowed it. 54 Regiment of Massachusetts was the first and most courageous of the battalions formed for blacks, and Colonel Robert Gould Shaw was in charge of organizing it.
