MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1945 film?

Al Roberts, a New York nightclub pianist, hitchhikes to Hollywood to meet up their gf Sue. The gambler he is riding with, Charles, unexpectedly dies. Afraid the police wouldn't think the reality, Al takes the person's identification. In a gas place, he gives a lift to Vera, a lady that knew Charles and blackmails Al with tragic consequences.
