MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1949 film?

Midge Kelly and his brother are heading to California. On the road, the picks Johnny Dunne boxer Midge encouraging to participate in a boxing match, which gets a big beating. However, the manager Tommy Haley, who feels that he has talent, makes him an offer, but denies Midge. The two brothers are working in a cafe run by Lew Bryce and daughter Emma. When Midge and the girl they are engaged, her father forces them to marry. Following the wedding, Midge turns to Haley and becomes an acceptable boxer, but excessively violent. Finally, his manager decides to leave and start fighting for mobsters. A remake called Champion (2002) was made based on this movie.
