MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1947 film?

In a small town in Connecticut, a priest is murdered in the street, and the public require forceful intervention of the police. All witnesses identify John Waldron as the perpetrator of the crime, but is declared innocent, but no one believes him. A remake called Boomerang, el príncipe de las mujeres (1992) was made based on this movie.
