"Behind the Planet of the Apes" is a comprehensive documentary about the creation of the series, from the original novel adaptation of the French to the continuing problems of production, changes in the cast, makeup tests, how stories are were adapted to contemporary historical moments such as the Vietnam War or the civil rights movement and finally how the series came into popular culture. Includes interviews with the main players in the entire series, from the directors to the producers and cast.
