MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1993 film?

For Andrew Sterling, a wealthy playwright of color, the problems begin the night decided to move to his new house in a residential area of New York. For their new neighbors, Andrew is the typical black that comes to steal. The police try to arrest the alleged thief and, in the middle of shooting, they discover the error. All his reputation is in jeopardy unless they can give a plausible explanation for their behavior. Therefore, the police chief proposes a deal to only prisoner is in jail: Amos Odell, a poor man long criminal record. Amos just have to break into house of Sterling, simulate a kidnapping and then surrender. In return, the police chief promises to leave leeway to escape the city. What the boss never meant is that Andrew Sterling does not intend to cooperate in the charade and come up even more trouble than they already have.
