MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1970 film?

Based on a story by Prosper Merimee, Polish Majewski tells the journey of a German linguist, minister of the evangelical church, by Lithuanian lands about their research. There will be staying in the palace of a peculiar earl, whose mother is insane since 27 years ago was attacked by a bear.
