MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 2012 film?

After a fatal car accident, a brilliant neurosurgeon is subjected to a series of tests that reveal who has cancer and requires a bone marrow transplant. He then decides to seek help from their parents. The response from parents will reveal a mysterious legend of the past. He embarks on an investigation that then lets you find out that during the Civil War, a group of children born with a strange twist: were insensitive to physical pain. Set between now, the Civil War and postwar.
