MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1974 film?

Los Angeles, 1937. Gittes The detective specializing in divorce, is visited Mulwray's wife, the Chief of the town Aguas, who suspects her husband is cheating. At the same time, farmers Gittes finds Mulwray accused of corruption by his refusal to build a dam to palliate suffering drought. Shortly after the scandal jumps to the press, but things get complicated when a lady is presented Gittes's office with a surprising revelation.
